Heights of Love, Depths of Peace

I honestly can’t even begin to explain my feelings on the shooting that occurred today.

I just can’t.

But, can I just express what a comfort it is to know that those twenty children, were God’s chosen? His elect? From the beginning of time, He knew they were going to spend eternity with Him in heaven.

Praying for the families of the victims, the families in that small town in general, and the entire community of Newtown, Connecticut.

And that’s all I can say.

saintandrewdixon:

In the midst of tragedy and heartache, even our enemies are to be loved. In the midst of persecution, we are to pray. In the midst of suffering, we are to rejoice, for our God has borne all our griefs and burdens and sins upon that cross and has nailed them there never to return. For God said to love our enemies, for He has loved us, and made us His friends.

I don’t wish the same things your parents want for you. They want for you security and insurance and nice homes. They want for you cars and respect. I want for you the same thing I want for my son, that one day he takes a banner, the banner of Jesus Christ, and he places it on a hill where no one has ever placed a banner before, and he cries out, ‘Jesus Christ is Lord,’ even if it costs my son his life.

Your circumstance doesn’t reflect God’s love for you. Jesus Christ, crucified and resurrected, reflects God’s love for you. So whether you’re high or low, the cross will always be the same.
